Judy Patkin worked with Soviet Jewry through her involvement as a volunteer and later as executive director of Boston’s Action for Soviet Jewry and later Action for Post-Soviet Jewry. She worked on the cases of Jewish refuseniks and Prisoners of Conscience from the early 1970’s through their immigration from the Soviet Union in the late 1980’s. From 1993 through 2019 Judy led a program helping Jewish pensioners in over a dozen Jewish communities in eastern Ukraine and in Bobruisk, Belarus. At present, Judy is retired.
