David Raim is a lawyer who has been active in Jewish and civil rights causes for over 40 years. He graduated from Yale College (BA, 1975) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (JD, 1978), both cum laude. From 1981-82, he worked as the Assistant Director of the National Law Department of the Anti-Defamation League. Among other matters, he drafted briefs supporting the rights of migrant workers, supporting the constitutionality of hate crime statutes and addressing international terrorism issues. Retiring from the private practice of law on 12/31/2018, he currently acts as a mediator and arbitrator on commercial matters. For years, he has served on the Board of Directors on other Jewish and civil rights organizations.

David lives in Chevy Chase, MD with his wife of 41 years, Leslie Shedlin. They have two children and two grandchildren.
